Holiday cottages

Self-catering is the most popular option on Anglesey, and the supply is excellent — from Victorian terraces in Beaumaris to whitewashed fishing cottages at Moelfre and modern builds with hot tubs overlooking the Irish Sea. Most let by the week in summer; some accept short breaks in shoulder season.

Camping & glamping

Anglesey has some of the most scenic camping in Wales. Clifftop sites near South Stack offer spectacular sunsets; quiet farm sites near Newborough Forest put you within walking distance of Llanddwyn Island. Glamping — bell tents, yurts, converted stables — has grown quickly and quality is generally high.

Hotels & B&Bs

The hotel stock is smaller than you might expect for a popular destination, but quality is improving. Beaumaris has the most interesting independent options — the Bishopsgate House Hotel and the Bulkeley Hotel are both in Georgian buildings with character. Trearddur Bay has the largest cluster of beach-resort accommodation.

Planning tip

July and August book out months in advance — particularly in Rhosneigr, Beaumaris, and anywhere near a beach. If you're visiting in summer, plan early. May, June, September, and October are the best months for last-minute availability and more relaxed prices.
