Accessibility guide in progress
We're writing a detailed accessibility guide to Anglesey — covering accessible beaches (including beach wheelchair hire at several sites), accessible walking routes, the most accessible historic sites, and accommodation that genuinely meets access needs. Coming shortly.
Key accessibility highlights
- Newborough Beach has accessible parking and a firm sand surface at low tide, navigable by manual wheelchair. The RSPB Newborough visitor centre has accessible toilets.
- Beaumaris Castle (CADW) has level access across most of the interior. The town itself is largely flat and easy to navigate.
- Anglesey Sea Zoo near Brynsiencyn is fully wheelchair accessible throughout, with disabled parking adjacent to the entrance.
- Holyhead breakwater and harbour area has good level access and accessible facilities.
- Beach wheelchairs are available for hire at several Anglesey beaches in summer — contact the local council for current availability.
