Dog-friendly guide in progress
Anglesey is one of the most dog-friendly destinations in Wales. We're compiling a comprehensive guide covering: beaches that allow dogs year-round, coastal walks with easy parking, dog-welcoming pubs and cafés, and self-catering cottages that accept pets. Coming shortly.
What to know now
- Many beaches are dog-friendly year-round, including Benllech, Moelfre, Cemlyn Bay, and most of the northwest coast. The AONB designation doesn't restrict dogs, but some beaches have seasonal restrictions (May–September) — notably Rhosneigr and Llanddwyn.
- The Anglesey Coastal Path (125 miles) is almost entirely dog-friendly and accessible from dozens of car parks.
- Most pubs outside tourist areas welcome dogs in the bar. In summer, beach-adjacent establishments are more hit-and-miss — call ahead.
