About

Britain's largest natural seawater aquarium sits on the shores of the Menai Straits at Brynsiencyn, showcasing the marine life of the surrounding Welsh seas through tanks that hold live lobsters, rays, seahorses, conger eels, and shoals of native fish. A shark-encounter tunnel and a touch pool make it excellent for children, and the setting — with views across the Straits to Caernarfon Castle — gives even a rainy afternoon a special quality. Open year-round.

Frequently asked questions

Is Anglesey Sea Zoo worth the entrance price?

The 6-day return ticket makes it excellent value for families staying on the island. The aquarium is smaller than large city attractions, but the native Welsh marine life (including lobsters, rays, and seahorses) is genuinely interesting. Best for children under 12.

What is the 6-day ticket?

Your entry ticket is valid for 6 consecutive days from purchase, meaning you can return for free. This is especially good for families on a longer Anglesey holiday.

Is Anglesey Sea Zoo good for a rainy day?

Yes — it's one of the best rainy-day options on Anglesey. The whole attraction is fully undercover and offers 1–2 hours of indoor activity for children.

Is there parking at the Sea Zoo?

Yes — free on-site parking. No parking charges.
