About

A weathered wooden shipwreck stranded on the tidal sands of Traeth Dulas, on the quiet northeast coast near City Dulas and Moelfre. At low tide the hull sits mirror-still against the wet sand, its exposed ribs drawing photographers to one of Anglesey's most atmospheric spots away from the honeypots. Go around low water for the reflection and firm sand, and check tide times first — the estuary floods quickly and the wreck is hard to reach near high tide.

Frequently asked questions

When can I see the shipwreck?

Around low tide, when the sands are exposed and the hull reflects in the wet sand. Check a tide table for Moelfre/Dulas before setting out.

Is it safe to walk out to it?

Stay on the firm sand and keep an eye on the incoming tide — the estuary fills quickly and can cut off the flats. Do not attempt it on a fast rising tide.
