Newborough Forest & Beach Loop

Newborough, Anglesey

About

A 5-mile circular walk through Newborough Forest and back along Newborough Beach combines Corsican pine forest, red squirrel habitat, sand dunes, and one of Wales' finest beaches in a single well-paced loop. The forest section follows cycle tracks through tall pine that provide cathedral-like shade, with red squirrels visible most mornings in the canopy, before the path emerges onto the vast beach with Snowdonia across the water. The return along the shoreline at low tide — sand hard and flat, the mountain panorama uninterrupted — is one of the most satisfying walks in Wales.
