About
Seacoast Safaris runs RIB and rigid inflatable boat trips from Beaumaris Pier around Puffin Island (Ynys Seiriol), a small uninhabited island at Anglesey's eastern tip that is home to cormorants, shags, guillemots, razorbills, and grey seals hauled out on the rocks. The 90-minute tours also scan the Menai Straits for dolphin and porpoise sightings. It's one of the most exhilarating short boat experiences in North Wales.

Frequently asked questions
Will I see puffins on Puffin Island?
Puffin Island's puffin colony was sadly devastated by rats and has not recolonised. However, the island is still rich in wildlife — cormorants, shags, guillemots, razorbills, and grey seals are regularly seen. For puffins on Anglesey, South Stack RSPB Reserve (April–July) is the reliable spot.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — booking in advance is strongly recommended, especially in summer when popular trips sell out. Book via the Seacoast Safaris website or GetYourGuide.
What should I wear on the boat trip?
Bring a waterproof jacket even in summer — RIBs create spray at speed. Layers are advisable as it's cooler on the water. Wear flat, non-slip shoes. Binoculars are highly recommended for wildlife spotting.
Can children go on the boat trips?
Yes — the trips are suitable for families. Check the Seacoast Safaris website for minimum age requirements and child pricing.
