About
Rhosneigr's consistent Atlantic winds and flat inshore water make it one of the premier kitesurfing schools in the UK, with Funsport and several other BKSA-accredited schools operating from the beach year-round. Beginners start with a full day of kite control before ever getting wet; improvers' clinics and board courses run most weekends. The views west to the Irish Sea while riding make the learning curve very easy to endure.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need any experience to take a kitesurfing lesson?
No experience is needed. Beginner courses start on land with kite control before progressing to the water. Funsport's BKSA-accredited instructors are used to teaching complete beginners.
How long does it take to learn to kitesurf?
Most people can get riding within 6–10 hours of lessons. A typical beginner package is a full day of kite control followed by a board session the next day.
What should I bring to a kitesurfing lesson?
The school provides all kitesurfing equipment. Bring a swimsuit, rashguard or thermals, and sunscreen. Wetsuits are provided. Wear trainers or wetsuit boots rather than bare feet.
